Oncofertility
Fertility preservation options for patients undergoing cancer treatment
Decisions about fertility preservations often have to be made very quickly following a diagnosis. The CReATe team of experienced and compassionate health care professionals is focused on quickly providing you with the information you need to be fully informed of your fertility preservation options prior to cancer treatment.
Led by Dr. Karen Glass, our fertility preservation program is one of the largest and most extensive in the country. We work with your oncology team to manage your fertility preservation options and integrate your fertility preservation choices into your oncology care. We set aside time each week to see men and women who urgently need a consultation, so treatment can be started as soon as possible.
We offer a wide array of fertility preservation options, including egg and embryo freezing, ovarian tissue freezing, ovarian transposition, egg donation, surrogacy, sperm banking, and sperm donation.
Costs
The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) covers most fertility preservation services for oncology patients. These include egg freezing, embryo freezing and sperm freezing.
